How do SureSmile® Clear Aligners work?
Sometimes called “Invisible braces” or “clear braces”, dentists and orthodontists commonly call them “clear aligners”. Clear Aligners are a technological advancement that has made orthodontic treatment less obvious, while moving teeth and aligning jaws to create a healthy, beautiful smile.
SureSmile® Clear Aligners combine the physical force of industry leading plastic with advanced digital planning software for precise tooth movement.
Your individualized treatment plan is created by Dr. Anderson working with a SureSmile® Digital Lab Specialist and will include a series of clear aligner trays created using initial impressions or digital scans of your teeth as the starting point. The aligners are plastic replicas of your teeth and wearing them puts gentle pressure on your teeth, ever-so-slightly repositioning them over time. Each set of aligners is worn for a week or two before going to the next set. Over time, your teeth reach their ideal clinical alignment.

Step 1:
Consultation
Dr. Anderson will begin with a smile assessment using a digital scan uploaded to the SureSmile® Aligner software. Using the software Dr. Anderson will design your custom treatment plan.
Step 2:
Receive Clear Aligners
Within 2 weeks, you will pick up your first two sets of clear aligners. We will ensure the clear aligners fit properly before you leave the office.
Step 3:
Begin your ideal smile journey
During your smile journey, you will wear a new set of clear aligners every two weeks as you watch your teeth move each week, getting closer and closer to your optimal smile. It is recommended that you wear your aligners 20 to 22 hours per day to reach your best smile in the shortest time.
